I'm still using my first version, 2.60, from IIRC 2001 or so, and the most 
recent map I notice after a quick peek is 1997.  This pertains to the "Level 
5" maps (7.5' series USGS).   I can also notice some 1981 and 1984 series 
maps in this distribution.

I would suspect that more recent versions have more recent maps (as was told 
to me by a TOPO representative in 2003).
