BREAKING NEWS ALERT: Brush Fires Reported Near Julian

July 1, 2007 (4:05 PM) -- Firefighters are battling a string of several 
fires along state Highway 78 east of Julian. The rural community of 
Whispering Pines is being evacuated.

About 12 miles of Route 78 have been closed to traffic from Julian east 
to the county Highway S-2 junction at Scissors Crossing.
