[pct-l] Esbit vs. Alcohol

Being an Esbit fanatic, of course I have to chime in.

+ You can ship *all* of your fuel in your drift box. If you send any 
resupply boxes, drop fuel in them also. You will *never* have to look for 
fuel. Availability is simply not an issue. During any long hike you will 
always see a few alcohol junkies looking for fuel, because availability can 
be an issue. Esbit isn't.

+ Why would you even consider boil time when choosing fuel (within reason)? 
Esbit takes about 12 minutes. If alcohol takes 4 minutes, does the time 
difference really matter?

+ Yes, solid fuels leave a residue. When you are done with your pot, rub the 
bottom of the pot briskly in the dirt. Residue gone and the titanium really 
doesn't mind.
