[pct-l] Inflammation in the knees on the PCT

I would suggest first going to an Orthopedic MD 
and determine the cause of the inflammation. If there 
are no miniscus tears, tendon problems, or arthritic
problems (like bone on bone) you can stretch, take
NSAIDS (I take Aleeve midday and it lasts 12 hours.),
use an elastic support of T-band, and use trekking poles.
Dietary suppliments of GlucosamineChondroitin are help-
ful in some cases. Post hike, apply ice, snow or cold
water when available. And keep knees warm at night
with longjohns or running tights. The most common cause
of knee pain is Chondromalacia Patella, where the knee
cap fails to properly track in the groove of the femur. There
are specific exercises and taping methods for this con-
