I hiked K Meadows to Independence. My plan was Lone Pine, but I took
someone's advise and re routed.
Easy ride, easy access to Lone Pine and Bishop along 395. Saved a lot of
bucks on motel charges.

While hiking up Whiney that trip I ran into another thru-hiker friend
(Popcicle) who spent a day trying to hitch back up to Horseshoe.
He finally took a ride up to the Portal and hiked back in by way of a
Whitney side trip.

I'll do Independence again.
