Last month, PCT-L turned 10 years old. Did anybody notice?
In 1996, the year after my PCT hike, I created the first website for
the PCTA, back before hardly anyone knew what the Internet was.
Being the birthday boy at Keneddy Meadows for my uncoming 12 year at the meadows means i have been involved with the trail longer then the PCT-I..... That really makes me feel old somehow................. check to see what Roger Carpenter says about Keneddy Meadows and me .... I actualy met Roger there in '95 when i turned 5o .... ' 96 actualy had about 80 folks who did the hike that year, 2 of them compleated their triple crown.............only a handful was able to do it in ' 95 and even most of them did a FF or SoBo. Up until '96 you rarely had more then 30 in one year with the exceptions of ' 77 and ' 79 which were banner years.......So we assume here, that with the creation of PCT-I, that it has helped to increase the #s.........
So from the 100s more that now have finished the trail, we all wish you a Happy Birthday and a big thank you................
