[pct-l] keeping the skinny warm at night

I wouldn't count on finding enough fuel in the desert portions of the
trail to heat up igneous rocks. Hot-water nalgenes, bag liners/vapor
barriers, a full stomach before hitting the sack, and a full-length
pad or gear under you to keep you off the ground, goes a long way. I
drape extra clothing over myself, inside my sleeping bag, for
insulation as well. Mmm, toasty.

I find foam pads way better in the desert than inflatable ones...you
would not believe the **** I've found stuck in my cheapie foam pad in
the morning. Ooh.
