Had you been out there 20 years ago when the hunting shack was there on the red rock trail three miles in from Lover's camp?

Yes, we went in via Red Rock Valley Trail (Lover's Camp TH) and out Canyon Creek Trail. A very easy, leisurely over nite trip.

Actually I was talking about Lower Sky Lake. I almost killed myself once trying to climb up directly to Shadow lake from there in a rain storm. The rock face is really mud and shale. Shadow Lake is the source of the waterfall coming out of the rocks way up there.

Did you hike in from Lover's Camp?

Are you referring to Shadow Lake? That southern end down hill is a real challenge!! but fun in a strange sort of way! Camped there with a friend who had never been in the Marbles before this past, early fall. Glorious. I have pics. if anyone would be interested contact me off line.
