Well there is a former PCTer who make a complete rain outfit that goes over the pack as well as you...... His name is Bill Gurwell and its a carpo style outfit....email me off line and i will forward your ?s Meadow Ed

You're gonna get wet.

With improvements in Gore-Tex and other shell fabrics,
the threshold of wetness is a bit higher than it was
ten years ago, but there is still nothing which works
as well as we want. It will take some clear thinking,
like that of a Henry Shires or Brian Frankel, to come
up with the next quantum step in dryness. But given
the level of solution-oriented thinking of former PCT
hikers, it could happen.
