I've got Feb 23rd, 24th & 25th reserved for a hike up the PCT from the
I-10 to Hwy 38 through the Millard Complex burn area.

I'm looking for anyone who may want to join me on this hike to
investigate the trail conditions and report back for the upcoming
Through Hiker Season.

I need at least one person to hike with me, hike SOBO from the 38 or
simply help shuttle me down to Cabazon after I park my car up on the 38.

My day 1 will be from the I-10 to the mouth of East Mission Creek (about
16 miles and 1.4k climb). Day 2 will be to Mission Creek Camp (another
15 miles and 4.9k climb ) then to the 38 on day 3 (11 miles of an up &
down ridge walk).

I'll be placing cairns where the trail is obscured from fire damage,
taking photos of interest and investigating water availability along the
way.

As far as I know, no one has hiked this part of the trail since last
year's big fire. Creek crossings may be damaged, the trail may be
obscured from fire and fire fighting equipment, and water may be
non-existent due to the relatively dry season we're having. Temps may
remain mild, but I anticipate cold temps at higher elevations.
Navigation will be by map & compass, with verification by GPS.

I'm keeping the miles relatively low, as I expect the trail conditions
to be poor. If creek crossings are out, I'll be XC hiking to avoid
climbing in and out of the ravines.

It'll be a less-than-enjoyable hike since it's mostly through the burn
area. But it's the next segment on my NOBO journey and I've put it off
long enough! At least the beta I gather will be of value to this year's
Thrus!

Any takers or help with shuttling out there?
