[pct-l] Swelling Feet

I recently read a post where someone said that they started their trip in shoe size 10 and by the end of their thru-hike were in size TWELVE and a HALF. (Just do the math on my delema)

Buying footware in my current shoe size of 14 is difficult enough, so the prospect of swelling feet and having to buy even larger sized shoes is dreary. I have never been on a distance backpack so I have no baseline to gage if my feet will swell or not.

I've backpacked in the southern CA deserts for the last 15 years (4 nights max) and have also been on many week long backpack trips (longest trip 100 miles) and have never experienced swelling like I'm now hearing about.

QUESTION:
Does anyone out there have BIG (Rubeus Hagrid) size feet that can recommend a brand or style of hiking shoes / boots.

Thanks in advance
Al
