It's my understanding that you can sue for just about anything--whether or not it will go anywhere is another question. We would hope that the mining company involved hears from outraged citizens (including the hiking community) and does not proceed to suing anyone for speaking out at a public forum. Could it be that they are trying to scare off those in opposition to their project?
