[pct-l] No camping with 100 feet of PCT & Lakes?

These rules have been evolving over the years as trail usage
increase. As others have pointed out, they vary according to which
Forest or Park you are in, not by state. For example, most of the
Sierra Nevada has rules similar to what you describe. In Lassen
National Forest there are restrictions with regard to proximity to
water but not the trail. These rules and fire restrictions are
locally determined and administered. I have never seen rangers
actually write tickets, but I have been asked (told) to move by a ranger.
