[pct-l] Transitions lenses for thru-hike?

I use transition lenses all the time, except when back  packing. Then, they 
don't get dark enough to protect from really harsh  conditions. The flip ups 
are ok, except there usually isn't much side coverage,  which is an issue. 
Splurge the extra three ounces and $300 for some nice  prescription glasses to 
augment your transitions, but get them dark & make  sure they cover the eyes well.
