[pct-l] Pet care while on PCT?

I asked a similar question a year or two ago and my concern is my cats.
One is borderline diabetic (supposedly) and has a special diet and
takes an antidepressant daily so he won't pee and mark where he's not
suppose to. The other, Cuddles, is allergic to soy which is in
Schwartz's diet, and she often gets the worse of it in fights between
the two. So now her primary space is my bedroom bath. When I go away my
options are to board them at the vet, expensive and reliable and almost
always available. Or find someone to come in. I have one friend who is a
former vet tech so she can easily give Schwartz.
If I were to be gone for a month or more I'd try to arrange a short term
adoption with someone and pay for the food and pills.
Pets tie us down but we love them.
