If I am thinking of the same place as most thru hikers talk about; your "loss" is also your gain. It was lacking in a lot. For we locals it where all the welfare, etc. lived...."not that there is anything wrong with that" (Jerry Seinfeld). Let's just say it was low rent district...very low rent district.

I have no idea whether its been replaced by another residents, or not.
