>Does anyone know about the new Patagonia Men's Rain Shadow Jacket? A recent

>(MicroPore-DriDucks) sucks out on the trail in heavy rain and snow. Now I am

First of all you need the ever stylish Seattle Sombrero
http://www.outdoorresearch.com/home/category/home/headware/rain_hats .
It's much nicer to wear then the hood on a rain jacket. You can hear
things because the sombrero does not cover your ears, that way you won't
be surprised when a Mountain Lion tries to sneak up and pounce on you.

I hike day hike 1-2 times a week in a rain forest all year round. I don't
even look at the weather forecast, I just prepare for rain every time. My
rain gear gets a lot of use hiking and also around town.

I've been using Mountain Hardwear Epic Pants and Jacket, they always keep
me dry. But climbing over all the deadfall caused by the huge windstorms
we had this winter has finally damaged my pants. Scooting over 12 foot
diameter trees has taken it's toll. The Jacket is still in great shape
though.

They are not as light as frog togs but they will keep you dry.
