We just got back from hiking Sec. C from the intersection with Cougar Crest Trail (around 276) to Deep Creek Bridge. No water until we got to Little Bear Springs Trail Camp. The faucet was off, but there were a couple nasty looking pools of water in Holcomb Creek near the camp. As we headed W, there were a couple of running feeder creeks in the next mile (nice camping too), and water became more ample in Holcomb Creek. There's plenty of water all the way down to Deep Creek.

Sure got cold this weekend. Snowed in Lake Arrowhead on Thursday, and Thurs. & Fri. nights it was in the 20's. And WINDY - just about blew Sprout away as we transitioned from the S side to the N side near Holcomb Valley.

Getting a ride up to Lake Arrowhead from Deep Creek was a breeze. Of course it was Sat., but there were about 10 vehicles at the Splinters trail head. We got a ride in 5 min. with the first people we asked. It's about 3 miles of pretty serious uphill if you don't get a ride.
