[pct-l] NOBO late start date....bad year for it

Thanks, Bob -- I was going to send a follow-up post to that effect but you
beat me to it.
The other thing is that it takes an average of four weeks to get from the
border to Agua Dulce, and another 10+ days to get to KM from here. That
would put the average hiker starting mid-May in KM around July 1. Now, you
may be an extremely strong hiker, but night hiking and carrying extra water
will slow everyone down.

Unless something has changed recently, there is no public transportation to
or from Kennedy Meadows. It's a nitch that definitely needs filling. The
closest you can get is to Inyokern. You'll have to hitch from there,
although there is a taxi service in Ridgecrest. I suspect that would be an
expensive 50 mile one-way ride, if you could even get them to take you in
the first place.

.........should I think about just hopping a bus to KM and flip-flopping?
Is there a bailout from the desert if it's too rough after a couple of days
where I could hitch/catch a bus to KM and flip-flop?
