Donna,

Good point about the Acorn Trail.

Class of 2007,

You can easily avoid the Acorn Trail by simply walking another 5-6 miles of relatively flat ridge walk through the ski resort and down to Highway 2. While the traffic on Highway 2 is not significant it is not that diffcult to catch a ride back to Wrightwood. At worst, you can road walk about 1-1.5 miles down to a major intersection where it is very easy to catch a lift into Wrightwood. This puts you 6 miles further up-trail when you get back on and eliminates the Acorn Trail.

Since they were in Wrightwood, I suspect they went up the Acorn trail first. THAT is a tough climb.

A tough climb? Baden Powell? Wow, are these guys in for a wake-up call in a few hundred miles!
