The last two hikers Alon and Speshel have turned up. They started out north from Snoqualmie on the 23rd of October, turned around after a time and went to Seattle to get snow shoes and a GPS tracker. After a couple more days on the trail they turned around again because they were up to their thighs in snow with temps in the teens. There were a lot of folks worried about they're late timing and the weather. Everyone is very happy the guys made the right choice. For others in up coming years, you really need to try to be to the northern border no later than the 10-15th of October. The weather and temps change really fast up here this time of year. Quit taking those "0" days just because of rain or because you want to party. The trail is higher and tougher north of Steven's Pass. This is no piece of cake in the winter. And don't be so unbelieving when the trail angels try and give you advice as to what is ahead of you in the mountains. We get our information from years of previous hikers who have been there and called us back to fill us in on each year. We also get calls from the Forest Service and the National Parks Service. No, we haven't stepped foot on the trail but we do try and keep up to date each year on what's ahead of you. We are only looking out for your safety. We are not trying to screw up your trip. We worry about all of you like you were out kids. No matter how old you are.

Please hike safe............:)
