That was a grizzly, an entirely different beast.
It's more common, though still rare, (relatively speaking) for grizzlies to
be predatory towards humans.

Here is a link to a news article about a bear attack
in Alaska. I find it interesting as the folks where
doing everything "right" or "official" and yet they
still got snacked on. My point, bear barrells will
not save you from a bear attack.
