CTD emailed from Mammoth yesterday. He had a fall on ice by Sonora Pass. Sixty feet unable to self-arrest, and banged up his hip and a knee and broke a hiking pole. He also broke through snow into a river near Donahue Pass and had to hike wet, with frozen shoes through the night to reach Mammoth.
He is starting out today with a fair weather report for next seven days.
