LOL...that "spit on our servicemen" urban myth has always cracked me up.

I came back from almost 3 years in the field. I was a Marine. I'd been on
over 600 night ambushes. I had two Purple Hearts. I actually had three but
our Corpsman was killed before he could report one of them. I had been shot
at..a lot.

Nobody spit on me when I got back. No one I know was spit on. 

If that had happened you would have read about it in the papers. 

They might have even included pictures of the deceased.

Believe me, they would have *had* to be on drugs to do something that
stupid...and terminal.

I remember those hippie types who use to spit on our service members and
call the parents of deceased servicemen and tell them they were glad their
son was dead.  But I guess it wasn't their fault it was probably the LSD.
