[pct-l] need snow info for central Sierras

The snow has melted off the sensors that the postholer site uses, so it wouldn't be much help to you this time of year anyway. With that said, I'm sure you'll find plenty of snow in some areas.

As you mentioned, reading someone's journal will probably be your best bet, sans first hand info. Check trailjournals.com for a recent journal entry or contact Mr. Ranger in the area you are headed to.

I am planning a trip out of Mammoth  starting July 25.  I need 
information about snow conditions, but my empty head can't seem to find 
any online.  The high points we will hit will be Silver Pass and several 
lake basins above 10,000 feet (planning to visit those after August 15). 
Can anyone tell me where to find sites or current hiker journals so I 
can keep an eye on snowmelt conditions at the higher elevations?
I've been to postholer.com but didn't understand what I was looking at.
