They were $140 oh........7 or 8 years ago when I bought mine when they first came out - $195 yikes !!!!

I read couple years ago I'm supposed to get it retrofitted - I guess people were boiling water in them and it compromised the seal of the aluminum bottom to the Carbon tube, causing the old model to be disallowed.

  $140/  Did you buy it used/on sale?  The cheapest one I se is $195!
