Right on, Danniken! So listen up buster and listen up good: If you
are accomplishing anything in life, doing anything productive
whatever, you have no right to contribute one single comment to this
list, let alone take a leadership position in any organization
relating to the PCT or any other trail. Unless your income is
derived completely from funds held in a blind trust comprised solely
of the lottery winnings of someone you've never met and whose
identity you don't know, keep your greedy, self-indulgent comments to
yourself. Your role is limited solely and completely to making
generous anonymous donations to charities Danniken pre-approves and
don't you even think about trying to take a charitable deduction on
your tax return you amoral capitalist pigs, you. The nerve of you
people! You should be giving away those tents and backpacks you
designed and manufactured for free to the less fortunate and hiding
as much information about trail survival as you can so as to make
certain only the most elite master of adventure will dare hike a
trail. As for Danniken and me, we're going to hike the PCT naked
carrying nothing more than a recycled shopping bag full of dried
field corn and we're going to walk backwards the whole way so that
Dick Cheney can't sneak up on us and we're going to wear tin foil
hats just in case.
Why, oh why, do I read this dreck, let alone respond? I have
apparently lost my mind. By the way, seriously now, if any of you
respond to me off list about this I will immediately and gleefully
post your cowardly "private" response to the list and then tack a
printed hard copy, translated into French, German and Swahili to
front door of the brewpub nearest your home.
