[pct-l] guns on the trail

I do carry a pistol on the trail. But, before you get yourselves in a tizzy, 
I carry it for dispatching a goat if one is completely incapacitated on the 
trail. Nothing worries me worse about hiking with livestock than having a 
goat in extremis and no way to end the suffering.

I can't imagine a situation where I would use it on a human, but I suppose 
there might be. But, in my case, it's a matter of being responsible for the 
well being of my goats, even to the ending of their life, should it come to 
that.
