Since the article was published a couple of months ago, it's probably too
late to request AP to publish a correction anyway.   Besides, the PCT still
has about 300 trail miles that aren't in public ownership and are only
protected by teeny easements.  Even though the trail is walkable, it's not
entirely "connected" in a technical sense.

If you detect a hint at why the PCTA has a huge job to do with respect to
fundraising (groveling for more federal funding and seeking private
donations) for land acquisition ... you're right...
