[pct-l] Cascades bird identification help

I know it only by its call. Or rather, by their communal
calls, back and forth among the boreal treetops in the
Cascades of Washington. The aural effect is somewhat akin to
a dozen landline telephones each chirping at its own unique
pitch and tone, but way more beautiful than that. In fact
its haunting appeal is right up there with the hermit
thrush. Could it in fact be a thrush, perhaps a varied
thrush?
Northbound thru-hikers may be unfamiliar with this bird's
call. I don't remember hearing it in these areas along the
PCT during the latter part of August into early September.
What a treat for southbounders, though.
