I say that the sign should have been solar powered for battery backup  for 
dark hours.  This is an outrage.  We need more socialism in  the outdoors and on 
the trail.  If it is government land, then they are  responsible for my 
well-being and safety.
 
For some reason this whole episode  reminds me of the movie City Slickers - 
The Hunt for Curly's Gold.  In this  movie there is another butt problem in the 
outdoors.  There is a scene  where Billy Crystal almost sucks a supposed 
snake fang out his buddy's  rear.  Just goes to show you that your butt can get 
you into all kinds of  trouble out there.  How about some signs at the trailhead 
parking lot and  in the first mile up the trail that say, "Watch Your Step & 
Butt", "Law  Suits Welcomed", "Privy Trips Optional", and "Mental Anguish R  
Us".
